Have you ever rented a car?

I recently had a horrible experience at a car rental company when I was returning the vehicle. I was yelled and scolded at. I was made aware and accused of damaging the car. "What damaged," I voiced out in outrage; the damage was a barely detectable scratch that required a magnifying glass to even notice.

While I had rented cars on numerous occasions with this particular business, this was the only time that I can recall where I felt uncomfortable and demeaned.

But even so, does it only take one bad apple to spoil the bunch? Does this one incident change my entire outlook on this company as a whole? No.  However, the reply from the company does.

I sent out an e-mail to their customer relations department -- hoping for clarification on the matter, I was met with no reply at all. Naturally, I sent another...again no response. Maybe I should call them, I thought to myself, because if  customers were experiencing similar ordeals as mine, then I knew their email would be back-logged. I called and spoke with a sweet, polite customer service rep who assured me that the incident in question was an isolated one and is not indicative of their company. She took all of  my information, told me that someone what call me in about 3-5 business days, and she even gave me a reference number. That was over a month ago.

All-in-all, It has been three months, and still no word. What good are assurances when  the customer has failed to be reassured. And for a company whose founder coined the phrase, "Take care of your customers and employees first, and growth and profits will follow." The new schoolers appeared to have changed it to "Ignore your customers, cover for your employees, and who cares if profits decline, because the economy is trash anyway."

However, if you don't take care of your customers, there's always someone that will.

P.S. The only difference between this rental and past rentals, was that, I dropped off the car at a different location then from where I first leased it at.

Have you had an unpleasant experience with a rental company?

Head's Up: Walmart Changed Their Coupon Policy

Yesterday, I ranned into trouble while attempting to use some coupons. I was informed by a CSM that their corporate policy has changed. The CSM stated, that now, the item must match the picture on the coupon, but upon looking at the change, I realized that is far from true.

It states, "Item purchased must be identical to the coupon (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc)., this statement is can be easily miscontrued. Luckily, I will decipher the meaning for them the next time I go

Q: Did you know that most office supply stores will price-match other competitors' offers, if they have the same identical item in stock?

I was surfing through my e-mail a few weeks ago, and noticed that Office Depot had a promotion going on. The promotion stipulates that if you buy any item or items with a combined purchase of $10.00 or more, you will receive a SurPrize card.

A SurPrize card is actually just a coupon with a specific amount off. However, you can only use it for the entire month of April. The surprise card can be a value of 10, 20, 50, 100, or 250 off a purchase. You won't know the actual value until April 1st, that's when you can go in-store or online to find out.

Its a good deal if you make a purchase 10.00 or just a little over that, that way you're sure to get back what you've spent.

Q:So how did I get three case of water for five dollars you asked?

A: I downloaded an application called, Wrapp  from the Itunes store. This app allows you to send your Facebook friends gift cards, some of the gift cards are free. Just recently, a friend gifted me a 5.00 gift card. I used this gift card and I also price-matched the water 3 for $10.00. So I only paid $5.00 -- my state does not charge tax on water. I then received a surprise card valued at 10.00 or more.

I'm not going to necessarily say its a money maker just yet, simply because I read the small print. At first, I thought the coupon card act like a gift card, but it does not.  it is 10.00 off a 20.00 purchase, 20/20.  50/50, 100/100,  250/250.

So, on a future purchase I will either save  50 % off or 100 % off, here's to hoping.

P.S. If you have a smart phone, then I suggest you download the Wrapp app.

Note: Today day is the last day that you can make a 10.00 or more purchase and receive a SurPrize card.
